Smith\'s biggest sister, Steve, told Fox News that family and friends of the missing teenager had provided the police with DNA samples.
Authorities have also carried out fingerprints on everyone in the Smith car for the past 10 days.
The police want to know where the two of Smith are.
From leaving the target to finding her car at Macy\'s, there is an hour\'s distance.
Investigators say they don\'t know if Smith was picked or kidnapped at random by someone she knew.
On Monday night, they posted a message of \"interested people\" who entered the store after Smith and then left before her.
Detective Bob Miller said that after the video was released, both of the people who called the police mentioned one person.
\"He walked in shortly after her and left before her, apparently parked somewhere next to her,\" Miller said . \".
\"We are confident we can identify this guy today.
\"Kelsey has others in the store at the same time, but this guy seems to stand out,\" Fredrickson added . \".
\"We won\'t call him a suspect.
He may have information that will help us.
We want to know his name and talk to him.
\"This person\'s surveillance video shows a man in his 20 s with a thick dark hair and facial hair on his chin.

Smith\'s father, Greg, told Fox News on Tuesday that \"the biggest information we have has caused us to be most excited about this person of interest . \".
\"Someone outside knows this person or sees this person, all they have to do is call the police and tell them who he is.
\"The police are trying to determine whether the person who rushed to Smith in the car was the one captured earlier in a video from the store.
\"I can\'t say for sure that we\'re looking for the same person,\" Douglas said . \" But he added that the man who rushed to Smith in the car was wearing a white shirt with shorts.
He said that after the video stills were released on Monday night, the phone flocked and it was possible to know who the person might be.
\"I can\'t say we \'ve solved any of the issues, but it\'s pretty good --
\"We got a lot of clues from this,\" Douglas said . \".
On Tuesday, searchers focused on the apartment building around the target.
Police believe that since the man in the surveillance video appears to be in his 20 s, he may not have lived at home with his parents or rented a nearby apartment.
All volunteer groups are made up of one woman and two men because the police are concerned about the safety of the women themselves going out.
Smith, who graduated from high school less than two weeks ago, is expected to return home by 7: 30. m. Saturday.
She spoke to her mother at 6: 57 from within the target. m.

About two hours after Smith\'s disappearance, her grandparents found her gray 1987 Buick in the parking lot of the nearby mall, with her wallet and package still inside.
The ATM card and mobile phone in her wallet were gone, but they have not been used since Saturday.
Smith\'s parents say that whenever they come home later than expected, or if they change their plans, their children always call them.
Since they had never received a call from Kelsey, they believed someone had kidnapped her.
\"There is a rule in our family --
If you change your position, our children will know.
\"They always, always let us know,\" said Melissa Smith, her mother . \".
\"She is very responsible.
\"Greg Smith has been in law for 16 years.

She also works in the local AMC Cinema.
\"From a police point of view, I understand what is going on,\" he said . \".
\"I know what is the key thing and what is the key time frame.
I try not to think about this.
At the same time, Miller said the Smith family was also bearing expectations.
\"I talked to dad early this morning.
They\'re starting to crash a bit because we\'re 48 years old.
An hour window, \"Miller said.
\"He knows the urgency and seriousness of the situation now.
Family and friends also said Smith was a fighter and it was hard for anyone who kidnapped her to subdue her.
They also said that she likes people who have a good relationship with her boyfriend very much.
