bra to bustier top

by:Yufengling     2020-06-24
I found brates and brates.
Cut and other-
In all Topshop, City clothing, etc.
I can never find it.
Perfect for me and 2)
The print I like.
So I started making my own bra with a shoulder-less bra.
I almost wanted to call it \"man made\" street artist because it was so easy --
In a sense, it\'s actually just a fabric wrapped around a shoulder-less bra.
I use high-
Waist shorts/pants/skirt so it\'s right above my waist.
It\'s up to you that you want your top to be long or short.
If you decide to do so, you have to make sure you can put it on (and take off! ! )
Brano without disconnecting the strap.
There is no zipper in this project, although if you know how to do it, you are very welcome to join the zipper even with the bra.
This could be a tense squeeze (
Put it on and you might look a little funny)
ButI did this to be as simple as possible, and a way to relocate abra that you may not use often. (
Edit 6/12: check the comments for an awesome suggestion from rhelm2: \"In order to get off the bus more easily, you can do step 7 first instead of sewing straight to the top at this step, only sew to the last 2 inch.
You can leave a little peek.
Sew the edge of the bra on the edge of the fabric so you can buckle it together instead of wrestling it \")
Since this doesn\'t use the pattern, the little things will vary for everyone, so here\'s how I did it.
Please let me know if you have any questions! xo-Strapless bra (
Or a bra with removable straps)-
Jersey fabric about 1 yard (
I used the fabric made of ITY jersey knitted fabric. com.
I think it would be helpful to buy a slightly stretched fabric)-Sewing machine-
Coordination thread-
Hand stitch for manual sewingMeasuring tape-
Dress form can be useful!
I use a tank top as a guide to cut out a rectangle at the widest point with the same width as the tank top.
In my case, my tank top is 14 inch flat (
Or 28 inch or so).
I added an extra 4 inch at each end (
So a total of 8 inch.
The total width of my rectangle is 36 inch.
I put an arrow where I cut my fabric.
The length is up to you.
You can make it top of the crop or top of the full length
Or in.
According to your preference.
I keep mine on the length you see above, just because I know I can always shorten it at the last step.
It\'s better to start with too much and then trim it later!
I rotate along the top of the rectangle and give it a clean edge.
I was lucky and had a white border on my fabric so I used it as a guide.
I tidied up the fabric and placed the bra along the top, giving it enough space for the fabric to fully fold over the bra (
You will see this in the next step. )
I fold the bra over the fabric and the bra is between two layers to make sure the edge of the fabric touches the bottom.
After removing the bra, I suggest measuring the fabric you fold (
I did it in the second photo above).
Remember this measurement for later use!
After double checking with my vest, I wrap both sides and sew them together --
Right side facing each other.
I finally got a pipe of fabric.
I turned it over and folded the top of the fabric like above. (
Remember the measurement of Step 5?
Double check if the amount of fabric you fold is appropriate as the bra will be inserted here. )
Then I fixed it down the edge.
You will sew along this thread, which will keep the position of the brain.
I turned everything out.
Then, use the pin I put on the asa guide on the other side-
Re-fixed to the right side of the fabric.
In this way, when I sew along this thread, it is easier to sew with straight thread.
This will help me at least, so hopefully it will help you as well.
I sewed around my shirt.
Must be at 6-
8 inch from your end;
You plug the bra into this gap.
I remove the straps from the bra and then insert the bra into the gap to make sure the straps of the bra are straight and not distorted.
* Reminder: Make sure you are able to put on/off your bra without undoing it!
I then sew the strap/hook manually to keep it in place.
Before sewing anything else, I swayed in the \"pocket\" of the bra and put it in the right position.
In other words, make sure the front is facing the front and the strap is behind.
Before you sew the gap, it might be helpful to try it at this point.
I also nailed the sides of the bra to the fabric just to keep it in place.
I sewed the gap and sewed it.
My favorite part.
When the top starts to gather together!
On the front of the shirt, I collected the fabric in the center of the bra, nailed it, and then sewed it with my hands.
This creates the neckline of the sweetheart.
I am looking here and there for little places to do more manual sewing just to keep the bra in place.
I also noticed that I have some extra folding fabric on the top
It\'s not a big deal because it doesn\'t affect fit, so I folded/collected the fabric in two places on the back and sewn them by hand. . .
Just around the bra straps, like darts.
At this point, costume form is very useful and where can you do it if you need it.
I tried it on and finally confirmed the shirt I wanted to wear.
In the same way, I chose a shirt that is best suited for high waist pants.
Then I circled along the bottom.
This is my favorite new top and it\'s totally worth looking a bit ridiculous when I put it on.
